Content & Licensing

What you may freely do with public PLAIT material — and what requires permission or a stated license.

Publicly accessible PLAIT material is not public domain. Unless a resource states otherwise, it remains owned by PLAIT Technologies LLC or its identified creator.

What you may do freely

Public PLAIT material — the philosophy, the PLAIT Framework, public resources, and public pages — is published to be read and lived with. Anyone may:

  • Read it — no account, membership, or permission required
  • Discuss it — talk about PLAIT, quote it in conversation, write about it, agree or disagree with it
  • Privately practice from it — apply the Framework to your own lived context, on your own terms

Independent practice is complete in itself. Practicing PLAIT never requires payment or permission; a public license notice does not change that.

What requires permission or a stated license

The following uses of PLAIT material require permission from PLAIT Technologies LLC (or the identified creator) or a separately stated license on the resource itself:

  • Reproduction — republishing PLAIT material, in whole or substantial part, anywhere else
  • Redistribution — packaging or distributing PLAIT's Resources through other channels
  • Branded facilitation — running programs, workshops, or Sessions presented under the PLAIT name or brand
  • Adaptation — derivative works built on PLAIT material
  • Commercial use — selling PLAIT material, or offerings built substantially on it

If you want to do any of these, ask first — start a conversation through the Partners page. Facilitation and program delivery under the PLAIT name is exactly what the partner programs exist for.

Open licensing may come later

Selective open licensing may be introduced for specific resources over time. Where a resource carries its own stated license, that license governs that resource. This can happen resource by resource without placing the Canon or the brand as a whole into the public domain.

Your own content remains yours

This page is about PLAIT's material. It works the other way too: what you create in PLAIT is yours. You own what you create — PLAIT stores and displays it only to operate the service you direct. Publishing something through PLAIT does not transfer its ownership to us. The member-content terms are in Terms & Membership.

This page is a policy statement, written to be understood. The formal terms live in Terms & Membership.
